Battery Charging
As we moved to lithium technology (280AH) we needed to update our charging systems to work with lithium

I went for Victron kit as it is high quality European made and has good support, the app is also very good for seeing what is really going on
I recommend Victron kit, does what is says and works !

Battery to battery charging - Victron Orion XS 12/12-50A
excellent product, the advantage of this battery to battery charger is that it is possible to set the charging rate.
if the battries are low and you have a short drive select 50 amp, if the battery just needs a top up or you have a long run set maybe 10
the charger is completely configurable from 0.1 amp up to 50 for me this was an attractive reason to go with this more sophisticated charger all perimeters select able within the app

We have a 20 amp smart charger fitted, this gives us enough capacity to charge the batteries and run the fridge etc when on electrical hook up.
The charger supplied with the van was a 4 amp job which was woefully inadequate so needed to be upgraded.

The van has an external electrical hook up socket for times we are on a site with this facility.
