The idea is to see how efficient each gun really is
Method
crono each gun - 5 shots get an average power in feet lbs
Shoot (empty ) gun into balloon and measure the volume of air used /
shot
I ordered a measuring cylinder from ebay to more accurately measure
the volume - previous tests carried out using a jug - good for a
finger in the air view but not perfect
the cylinder
The results
The 850 Magnum 790 FPS - 8.4 grain pellet = 11.644 Feet pounds
- 250 ml / shot
The C State 795 FPS - 8.4 grain pellet = 11.72 Feet pounds -
190 ml / shot
AT44 787 FPS 8.4 grain pellet = 11.55 Feet pounds -220 ml /
shot
the Desmond gun (.22) 607 FPS 14.3 grain pellet 11.72 feet
pounds - 120 ml / shot
interesting how much more efficient the .22 is compared to a 177
giving similar power ...
