Pre Chamber Mod - QB range
Return to modifications
The standard QB 79 has a drop block which enables the fitting of a
paintball style regulated air bottle
These bottles are typically regulated to around 850 PSI
If a bottle is fitted this is a great improvement to consistency as
we then are not relying on the changing pressure that we get with
Co2
however there is very little physical space between the drop block
and the firing valve, so when the trigger is pulled the hammer opens
the valve and the air acts on the pellet
This is all good except the pressure drops rapidly and low speed air
is then behind the pellet
if we increase the pre chamber by using a tube from the longer 78
(cut to size and drilled) we can have a longer pre chamber so we are
not reliant on the speed of the regulator to keep the pressure up
This greatly adds to shot to shot consistency and also gives a
better shot count.
